Harvard referencing style

There are many different referencing styles available. The most popular citation style in the School of Geographical Sciences is Harvard. However, please check your School Handbook and assignment details for guidance before you submit.

The tools and tutorials listed below provide in-depth support and guidance on Harvard referencing and will help you create correctly formatted in-text citations and bibliographies for over 150 different source types.

Further support

Introductory sessions on referencing, avoiding plagiarism, and reference management software are advertised throughout the academic year on the Library's events pages.

If you have questions about referencing or would like support with reference management software, then please get in touch with your subject librarian to arrange a 1:1 session.
