Referencing correctly will improve the quality of your academic work and help you avoid accidental plagiarism.

There are a variety of reference managers available. You should choose one based on whether it supports the writing platform you will use. At the University of Bristol, we support EndNote, which is well integrated into key tools such as Word and Overleaf, but there are others.

There are many different referencing styles, and it is important to ensure that you are following the appropriate style for your subject. Check with your tutor if you are unclear as to which style you should be using.
