Finding Full-Text

To access the full-text of resources, we recommend using the search tools and links provided by the Library on our webpages and in this guide. This way you will be authenticated and recognised as a member of the University of Bristol.

We also provide access to LibKey Nomad, a browser extension that links to full text articles available through Library subscriptions or Open Access alternatives (via Unpaywall data).

What is a database?

If you want to do a thorough search of the literature on a topic, the best way to do this is to use a database. A database indexes journals and other sources of information, meaning you may search across all these indexed sources at once.

Databases are not always easy to use. To make sure you use databases to their full potential, take a look at our guidance on discovering information, or get in touch to arrange a chat.
