Pre-sessional Library Induction

Research databases

Research databases enable you to find a wide range of research materials for your study. They are recommended for longer pieces of work which require you to do in-depth research.

There are two ways of reaching our research databases:

  • The subject guide for your subject: this provides a list of subject-specific databases, and is a great place to get an overview of the important resources for your subject
  • The Library's databases page: this gives a comprehensive list of databases for all subjects taught at the University

Remember: If you are looking for some books to read on your subject, please start by using Library Search, the Library's main catalogue.

Tutorial: using databases

This interactive tutorial guides you through the process of using databases optimally to find information on your topic.
